Introducing AiRISTA’s Newest Release of Sofia™
A modernized experience, enterprise-grade security, and a foundation built for what’s next in location intelligence

We’re excited to announce the release of Sofia™ 8.0. This newest release of Sofia represents the most significant advancement to AiRISTA’s RTLS platform since the original Vision platform was introduced, delivering a modernized user experience, enterprise-grade security, and an expanded foundation for future innovation.
Sofia 7.2.7 has powered reliable real-time tracking and monitoring for organizations across healthcare, industrial, and government environments for years. But the requirements those organizations operate under — security standards, integration complexity, user expectations — have evolved substantially. Sofia was built to meet that evolution head-on.
This isn’t a routine version update. It’s a full platform modernization: a redesigned experience, stronger security, simplified integrations, and a technical foundation designed to support the innovations we’re building next. Read the full press release: HERE.
What’s New in Sofia 8.0
A Completely Redesigned User Experience
Sofia 8.0 introduces a refreshed user experience across the platform, including asset and tag management, infrastructure management, the Map Editor, Alert Center, Rule Composer, user administration, dashboards, and reporting.
While familiar workflows remain intact, we’ve streamlined navigation, improved consistency across applications, and enhanced usability throughout the platform. The result is a more intuitive experience that helps users complete everyday tasks more efficiently, with a shorter learning curve for new users and minimal disruption for existing Sofia users.
The goal was simple: make daily tasks faster and more intuitive for the people who use Sofia every day, from administrators to frontline clinical and operational staff. That means improved navigation, a cleaner and more consistent design across every application, and less time spent training new users.

Enterprise-Grade Security and Compliance
Security expectations across healthcare, enterprise, and government environments continue to evolve—and Sofia 8.0 was built with those requirements in mind.
New security enhancements include:
- Single Sign-On (SSO) – Simplifies user access by integrating with existing corporate identity providers and enabling centralized user management.
- Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) – Adds an additional layer of protection for user accounts.
- Enhanced Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) – Provides administrators with more granular control over user permissions and access to data and functionality.
- TLS 1.3 Encryption – Supports the latest industry-standard protocols for securing data in transit.
- FIPS 140-3 Aligned Cryptographic Components – Supports organizations with stringent security and regulatory requirements.
For IT and security teams, these enhancements help strengthen access control, simplify identity management, improve data protection, and support alignment with organizational security policies and compliance initiatives.
A Centralized Integrations Hub
Sofia 8.0 introduces a centralized Integrations Hub that simplifies the configuration and management of external system connections. Integrations with platforms such as Cisco Spaces, Cisco Meraki, Cisco CMX, HPE Networking Aruba and Juniper Mist, EPIC, BD Alaris and others can now be managed through a more consistent and organized experience.
By bringing integration management into a single location, administrators gain better visibility into connected systems, simplified configuration workflows, easier troubleshooting, and a more scalable approach to managing the integrations that support day-to-day operations. gement systems.

A More Powerful Alert Center
Sofia 8.0 enhances the Alert Center with updated capabilities for alert history and playback, persistent alert management, and improved event logging. Together with real-time alert monitoring, these enhancements provide a more complete view of operational events across the organization.
Whether responding to an active event or reviewing activity after the fact, users have greater visibility into what occurred, when it happened, and how it was addressed—helping teams improve response times, streamline investigations, and maintain operational awareness.
Enhanced Reporting and Map Management
Sofia 8.0 introduces improvements to reporting and map administration designed to make managing and analyzing location data more efficient.
Reporting has been enhanced with improved performance, scalability, and organization of reporting data, providing a stronger foundation for future analytics and reporting capabilities. These enhancements help organizations access and manage information more effectively as deployments grow.
The Map Editor has also been updated to simplify floorplan management, zone configuration, and map scaling. These improvements streamline common administrative tasks and make it easier to maintain accurate, up-to-date facility maps.
A Stronger Foundation for Future Innovation
Beyond the user-facing enhancements, Sofia 8.0 includes significant platform improvements that support greater scalability, responsiveness, and long-term reliability.
These foundational enhancements help the platform manage growing deployments more efficiently while simplifying the delivery of future capabilities and updates. For customers, this means a more responsive platform today and a stronger foundation for continued innovation in future releases.
Built for Performance, Stability, and Scale
Underneath all of this, Sofia 8.0 runs on a completely modernized platform architecture — designed for long-term scalability, improved responsiveness, and greater reliability. For Sofia users, this means future enhancements are delivered faster.
What This Means for Your Organization
For administrators: Simplified authentication and user provisioning, easier system management, streamlined integration management, and reduced maintenance effort.
For clinical and operational staff: More intuitive workflows, faster access to the information you need, and improved alert visibility.
For IT and security teams: Enterprise SSO support, MFA enforcement, stronger encryption standards, and an overall stronger security posture.
For executives: A modern platform investment that reduces technical debt, scales with your organization’s growth, and establishes the foundation for the next generation of Sofia innovation.
Why This Matters Now
Location intelligence has moved from a specialized tool to essential operational infrastructure across healthcare, industrial, and government environments. As that shift happens, the platforms supporting it need to meet a higher bar — for security, for usability, and for the ability to integrate with the broader technology ecosystems organizations already run.
Sofia 8.0 was developed with those evolving requirements in mind. By modernizing the user experience, strengthening security, simplifying integration management, and enhancing the platform foundation, Sofia helps organizations address today’s needs while preparing for future growth and innovation.
